How do I create a Deskhero account?

1) Open the Deskhero sign-up page and enter your work email under "Email address", then click "Sign Up". 2) On the "Confirm your email" step, enter the 6-digit code Deskhero sends to your inbox and click "Confirm". 3) On the "Setup your password" step, choose a password, repeat it, and click "Save". 4) On the "Let's start setting up" step, enter your first and last name and click "Next step". After that you are guided into creating your workspace.

Can I sign up or sign in with Google or Microsoft?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Both the sign-up and sign-in pages show "Continue with Google" and "Continue with Microsoft" buttons (when these options are enabled for your environment), as an alternative to email and password. After authenticating with the provider you are brought back into Deskhero and taken to your workspace, the workspace picker, or workspace creation depending on your account.

What are Deskhero's password requirements?

Passwords must be at least 12 characters long and include at least 1 lowercase letter, 1 uppercase letter, 1 number, and 1 special character. While you type in a password field, a helper tooltip checks off "12 Characters", "Numbers", and "Symbols" as you meet each requirement.

What happens after I enter my email when signing up?

Deskhero emails you a 6-digit confirmation code and shows the "Confirm your email" page with the message "We've sent a code to your email" followed by your address. Type the code into the six boxes (you can also paste the whole code at once) and click "Confirm" to continue to the password step.

I entered the wrong email during sign-up. Can I change it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On the "Confirm your email" step there is a "Change Email Address" link (with a back arrow) that returns you to the first sign-up step, where you can enter a different email address and request a new code.

Why does sign-up say my email address is not allowed?

Accepted Answer

Deskhero rejects sign-up emails that are not a valid email format, that use a disposable email provider, or that contain a plus sign (+) in the address. Use a regular work or personal mailbox address without a plus sign. If the address looks valid and you still cannot sign up, contact support@deskhero.com.

Question 7

Why do I get an error saying the sign-up confirmation code is invalid?

The code must be exactly the 6 digits from the most recent email Deskhero sent you; anything shorter or older triggers the "Invalid code" error. Codes also expire after a limited time, so if yours has expired, go back with "Change Email Address", re-enter your email, and request a fresh code.

Question 8

Why am I told there have been too many sign-up attempts?

Accepted Answer

Deskhero rate-limits sign-up attempts per email address and per network address (roughly 10 attempts within 30 minutes) to prevent abuse. Wait about half an hour and try again. If you keep being blocked, contact support@deskhero.com.

Question 9

The sign-up flow says my email is already registered. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

That means an account with this address already exists. Go to the sign-in page and sign in with your existing password, or click "Forgot Password?" on the sign-in page to reset it. The sign-up page also has a footer link: "Already have an account? Sign-in".

What do I agree to when I sign up for Deskhero?

Accepted Answer

The sign-up page states: "By clicking 'Sign Up' you agree to the Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Cookie Policy and Acceptable Use Policy". These documents are linked directly from the sign-up page and are published under the legal section of www.deskhero.com.

What information does Deskhero ask for on the "About You" sign-up step?

Only your name. The step titled "Let's start setting up" asks "What is your first name?" and "What is your last name?". Fill both fields and click "Next step" to continue to workspace creation.
