What is the Setup Guide in Deskhero?

Before a mailbox is connected it shows a "Welcome to Deskhero" screen focused on connecting your mailbox; after that it becomes a checklist of setup steps, each with a description and a "Go to" button that takes you to the right page. You can open it from the Setup Guide item in the left-hand sidebar.

Who can see the Setup Guide?

Only users with the Owner or Admin role in the workspace. The Setup Guide item in the sidebar is hidden for regular users, and opening the Setup Guide page directly without the required role shows a not-found page.

Why does Deskhero keep opening the Setup Guide when I log in?

If you are an owner or admin and your workspace has no mailbox connected yet (or only the built-in one Deskhero provides), you are redirected to the Setup Guide after signing in so you can connect one. Once you connect and activate your own mailbox, you will land on the Dashboard instead.

Deskhero checks your workspace's actual state: the mailbox step completes when you have an active connected mailbox, the import step when an email import exists, the website step when a domain has been added for scraping, the knowledge base step when at least one article exists, the ticket step when your workspace has any ticket, and the invite step when the workspace has more than one user. Completed steps show a checkmark.

What does the "AI Knowledge" tag on some Setup Guide steps mean?

Why are the AI steps in the Setup Guide locked?

Accepted Answer

The last two steps, AI chat-widget and AI auto-replies, answer your customers using only your approved public FAQ, so they unlock once your FAQ reaches 100 approved Q&As. While locked they show "Unlocks at 100 approved Q&As" with a progress meter (for example "46 of 100 approved Q&As") and a "Build your FAQ to unlock" button that takes you to your FAQ. You can get there faster by approving suggested Q&As, adding entries manually, or uploading up to 1,000 Q&As from a spreadsheet. Once the threshold is reached, the steps show "Unlocked. Set it up".
